Notes:
My grandfather, Henry John, started work at Foxfield Colliery when he was 13 years old as a junior clerk. He served as forwarding clerk for 39 years and retired as the cashier in 1956. A total of 52 years service in the mining industry. He was also the clerk for Dilhorne Parish Council and a prominent member of the Ancient Order of Forresters for which he was the secretary.
