Margaret was only 3 years old when her mother Sarah drowned herself in the canal at Newcastle, Staffordshire.At the inquest it was said that neighbours were alerted to the crying of Margaret and her baby sister Lizzie and went into the house to find them alone, Herbert their father had already left for work.After a long search Sarah was found in the canal. Margaret died in 1898 aged 11 years.
