Notes:
Ellen and her husband Thomas became the guardians of my 2 x great grandfather Ralph Hammond aged 10, John aged 8 and Joseph aged 5 when their parents died in 1834. Ellen also looked after Ralph's daughter Sarah when her mother Mary died 1846. Sarah is on the 1851 census for Kingsley with Ellen, a Widow. I must try and find out if there is a family connection with the Hammond's and Stevenson's.
