Mary was the eldest child of Thomas and Elizabeth Bettany.Mary had an illegitimate daughter Mary who was born in 1834, when she was 24 years old. From information that I have received I believe that Mary married James Mitchell from Leek and that they had one son Henry who was born in 1846. I have not yet traced their marriage.Bettany sometimes spelt Bettaney.
