An extract from a letter from Ivy Brunt of Tean. One of the most faithful at Christ Church was Miss Ada Box,each day Miss Box opened the church at 6am ready for the 6-30 mass.Then she stoked the boiler, which she did again at noon and in the late evening. She also cleaned and dusted every day.In her will she bequeathed what little she had to the Church, to be used as the Vicar saw fit. A board recording the names of all the Vicars of Tean was purchased. Miss Box would have approved.
