Ruth was the first wife of Alec Thorley. Her parents were Charles and Sarah Harrison of Dilhorne. Ruth and Alec had a double wedding with Ruth's sister Margaret and Enoch Dale. Enoch and Maggie Dale ran the village Post Office and general store in Dilhorne. My mother, Dorothy Burston, worked for them when she left school.
