Elsie May aged 11 months was on the 1891 census for Longton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. John, her father, was the Innkeeper at the Willow Tavern, Longton.She moved to Leeds with her parents in 1909 Elsie worked as a machinist for Joseph May Clothing. She had to give up work to look after her mother Elizabeth whom she cared for until her death. Elsie never married and she died at the home of her nephew in 1975 aged 85 years.
